Hi, iam Joan Thornton, Have a good day!

Ugh, it’s so muggy in here! 70% humidity indoors is way too high - no wonder I’m feeling so uncomfortable. It’s like a sauna in here! I guess I’ll have to take some steps to get the humidity down. Time to break out the dehumidifier and get this place back to normal.

Is 70% Humidity Indoors Too High? [Solved]

Well, the HSE says 40-70% is best, but most folks find 30-60% more comfy. That’s why Airthings suggests that range. So there you have it!

  1. Humidity: Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. A humidity level of 70% indoors is considered high and can cause discomfort and health issues.

  2. Health Risks: High humidity levels can lead to mold growth, dust mites, and other allergens that can cause respiratory problems such as asthma or allergies.

  3. Comfort Level: High humidity levels make it difficult to stay cool in hot weather, as sweat does not evaporate quickly enough to keep you comfortable.

  4. Damage to Property: High humidity levels can damage furniture, walls, floors, and other items in your home due to condensation forming on surfaces which leads to rot or rusting of metal objects over time.

  5. Solutions: To reduce indoor humidity levels you should use a dehumidifier or air conditioner if possible; open windows when it’s cooler outside; use exhaust fans when cooking or showering; and ensure proper ventilation throughout your home by using vents and fans where necessary
